Welcome to MITIGATE, a database of available research on mitigation strategies for enteric methane emissions from ruminants. Here, we have gathered all available published research and calculated the mean effect size for broad categories of mitigation strategies.

Data included in the database

Data has been gathered from comprehensive searches of published literature. Included in the database are any studies which reported in vivo methane emissions from any ruminant and where a control and mitigated measure could be identified. If you feel that there is data missing or you find some errors, please get in touch. You are encouraged to upload or edit your own data. To do so, please register with us. Once you are registered, you will be able to log-in and upload or edit information.

Subsetting the data

You can choose to narrow the scope of the meta-analysis by using the search functions on the left of the main page. Choose among the available options and click "Search". The figure will be updated with the estimated results for your subset. Be aware that for some subsets of the database, there may be very few (or no) study comparisons available at this time which will mean great uncertainty around the subset's estimated effect size.

Downloading and using the database

At the bottom of the page, you have the option to download the database to use in your own analysis.
